While many people may think that an alarm really has no place at a pool, there are a number of reasons that installing a pool alarm in your area may be a good idea. Whether you're worried about vandalism, intrusion of animals, or unsupervised persons potentially hurting themselves and injuring your reputation as a pool owner, having a pool alarm can be a good addition for all those reasons. Pool alarms for the most part act on a motion sensor of some kind and can be purchased for relatively inexpensive money if that's what you're looking to do.

While many of us could only wish to be so lucky to have a pool in the first place, having a pool alarm should still be a top priority for a pool owner. One of the things that many of us non-pool owners may not even wish to consider is the fact a liability. As a pool owner or you may be liable if anyone injures themselves on your property and in your pool, even if they're not supposed to be there. This is a loophole in the law which often snags the nicest people but it is something that all pool owners should take into account if they are to maintain their immunity.

Another function of the pool safety alarms is as a monitor much like a baby monitor. These alarms just scan the sound landscape and allow a parent to be in another room as their children to play with each other in the pool and the alarm is meant to be their cries for help if there is something amiss. While these are not considered to be the best type of system to use, for some of the busy parents in the 21st century this is a necessary function. This is typically a much safer alternative for older children as a just has the appearance of a parent being there but you want to be able to should be sure that you are available should do something go wrong.

Pool cover alarms are something else entirely as a swimming pool is covered up during the off-season and when it's not in use. A pool cover alarm will be set off when someone breaches the cover of the pool and either tries to take his skinny dip or does something else untoward to your pool when you are not there.
